there's a resource it uses called Microsoft Spynet  and it sends sensitive info back to Microsoft that includes including the software and where it came from is this a good anti-virus for torrenters and if not what is and can you provide a link?

PS i have used Zone Alarm but didn't like it  and Panda Cloud which i did like.

I use MS Security Essentials.  As far as free AV's go, there ain't much better.  Provides very good detection while using a minimal amount of resources.  If you want something good that is usually paid for, I recommend Eset NOD32.  You can probably get it for free via torrents, but beware....I've just always had a problem getting my security from an illegal outlet.  That's just my opinion.

If you don't want to participate in their Spynet program, you don't have to.  Just disable it.

+1 for NOD32. I highly recommend it. eset.com

To "unlock" it, you can:
1) look for serials manually
2) have it done automatically for you with a program
3) "reset" the trial either every time you restart your computer or every 24 hours if you leave your PC seeding for extended periods of time.

Options 2 and 3 are usually included with any NOD32 torrent. Good luck ;)

I would recommend anti-malwarebytes to use in conjunction with your main AV.  I have found that it tends to find things others do not.  You need to register it in order for it to run in the background but its very easy finding torrents for it.

That's a good point, but be aware, unless you buy MalwareBytes, its a manual update/scan process.  Only the paid for version comes with real-time scanning.

Exactly.

Also, I should mention that the best manual scan tool that you can use is ComboFix.  It will not scan all the files on your computer just the ones that can effect your computer and you need to know a little bit more on how to use it in case it finds hidden files and how to fully shut off your AV but it has gotten rid of thing nothing else could find!
